Biography

Lieu Nguyen Huong Duong’s technique is very special. He does not touch the canvas with a brush, all the painting is done by dropping the paint on to the canvas. This technique was pioneered by Max Ernst and later popularized by Jackson Pollock. The many layers of paint, applied with precise technique, create vibrant landscapes, remnant of the impressionists and pointillist styles.

Lieu was born in 1975 in Tra Vinh, Vietnam. He graduated from Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts University in 2001 and accepted a teaching position after graduation. In 2003, he became a member of Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association and was awarded a certificate of merit at the 2000 Asia Pacific Contemporary Fine Arts Exhibition. His work is eagerly collected in Asia and starts to get recognized in the United States and Europe.
