David Soner was born in Metz in 1974, and lives and works in Luxembourg.
As a teenager he discovered the Hip-Hop culture, which was then in its infancy. He enjoyed the underground culture, from break-dance to rap, and by turning to graffiti he discovered his true vocation. Walking the streets of Metz, armed with an aerosol spray can, David started to reveal his “blaze”. He calls himself Soner, in the memory of friend who suggested to use it as his artist name. Ultimately David was more interested in being an aesthetic than to be a vandal. This led him to a graphic design school, where he moved from walls to canvasses and started exhibiting his artwork.
Street art is more complex than people may think. For instance, David’s obsession with the signature lead him to be influenced by Arabic calligraphy. Moreover, his job as a graphic designer gives him other contemporary sources of inspiration. Consequently, David’s art is defined as modern street art. This can be seen in the delicacy and precision of his lines and is also testified in the subtlety of the choice of colour. And of course David has a truly expert visual identity.
Bursting with creativity and professionalism, David also uses his talent and craftmanship to serve companies looking for a strong and original visual identity, via his two entities Pschhh! and Caligrafizm.
